Frequently asked questions

Honest answers, including the ones where the honest answer is "it depends".

Why study Spanish in Valencia?

It is a large enough city to have real choice in schools and daily life, and small enough to feel manageable in your first weeks. It has beaches, a walkable historic centre, good food and a relaxed pace — and enough everyday Spanish around you that you cannot avoid practising.

Can complete beginners study in Valencia?

Yes. Schools in Valencia teach from absolute beginner level upwards. Starting with no Spanish at all is normal, and it is often the point at which immersion helps most.

How long can I study for?

That depends on the school's course structure and on your own circumstances, including any visa or residence requirements that apply to your nationality. Short courses of a week or two and longer stays of several months are both common.

How do I choose a language school?

Start with your level, your dates, your budget and how you like to learn, then compare only the schools that fit all four. We'll go through this with you rather than handing you a directory.

Can you help me find accommodation?

We can explain the options — homestay, student residence, shared flat, private apartment — and help you understand which suits your stay. We cannot promise that a specific room or host family will be free for your dates.

Can you arrange airport pickup?

Airport pickup is available for some arrangements. Whether it applies to yours depends on your program and what has been agreed, so please ask us about your specific dates.

Can families come together?

Yes. Some schools run programs suited to parents and children at the same time. Tell us the ages involved and we'll look at what is realistic.

Can teenagers study Spanish here?

Yes. Teen programs exist and usually combine classes with supervised activities. Arrangements for under-18s vary between schools, so this is one to discuss early.

Can I study Business Spanish?

Yes. Business Spanish focuses on professional vocabulary, meetings, correspondence and presentations rather than general conversation.

Can I prepare for the DELE?

Yes, preparation courses exist for the official DELE examinations. The examinations themselves are arranged and administered by the relevant official bodies, not by us or by the schools.

How early should I plan?

Earlier is easier, particularly for accommodation and for popular start dates. If you are considering a longer stay, allow extra time for any paperwork your nationality requires.

Can you help after I arrive?

Yes — that is a large part of the point. What is included depends on your program and arrangements, but there is someone local you can ask.

Do you guarantee a visa or a place at a school?

No, and nobody honestly can. Visa decisions are made by the relevant authorities and admission decisions are made by the schools. We help you prepare and understand the process.

Which languages can I contact you in?

This website is published in English, Spanish, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, French, German and Russian. Write to us in whichever you prefer.
